Obituary for Kevin Newbigging

Kevin Newbigging
Kevin Donald Newbigging of Listowel, passed away on Saturday, December 23rd, 2017, at the age of 58 years.

Husband of Julie (Coghlin) Newbigging. Father of Colin and Julie Newbigging of Drayton, Cory Newbigging and Tom Slattery of Dublin, Ireland, and Abbey Newbigging of Listowel, and grandfather of Lily and Carson.

Son of Louise Newbigging of Listowel and the late Ken Newbigging (2000).

Brother of Lynda and Brian Schaefer of Listowel, Judy and John Coghlin, and Terry and Elizabeth Newbigging, all of Rosseau, Jill and Robert Sadler of Wiarton, John Newbigging and Tammy Machan of Monkton, Kirk and Gail Newbigging of Calgary, Alberta, Kim and Sheila Newbigging of Milverton, and Jeff and Joyce Newbigging of Listowel.

Remembered by his mother-in-law Jewell Coghlin and the late Neil Coghlin and their family Mary Ann and Larry Binning of Thamesford, and Stephen and Linda Coghlin of Jordan, and by his many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Predeceased by his brother Michael, nephew Marty, niece Tammie Curran, sister-in-law Debra Newbigging, and brother-in-law Scott Coghlin.

Kevin so loved his children, his grandchildren as well as his many friends and other family members. Kevin had a passion of hockey and he was a great outdoors man. He loved his fishing trips in Algonquin Park with his friends. Cutting grass, blowing snow and doing odd jobs for his mom and neighbours at home and at the cottage brought him joy and showed his generosity of heart. His companion Dot will miss her daily walks with him.

Visitation will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. where a private family funeral service will be held on Saturday.

Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.

Memorial donations to North Perth Sports for Kids (payable to Stratford Perth Community Foundation) or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
